Privacy Policy

The Short Version

MarkdownWizard runs entirely in your browser. The text you type or paste is never sent to a server — it is processed on your device and lives only in your browser's local storage so your work persists between visits. The one exception is a remote image referenced in your Markdown — the preview fetches it from wherever you pointed it, described below. There are no user accounts, no logins, and no tracking of what you transform with the tools. This website uses privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics and handles whatever you choose to send us through the contact form.

Your Text

• Processed locally — there is no backend and no upload
• Saved only in your browser's local storage, so it survives reloads
• Deleted when you clear it or clear your browser data
• Tools keep working offline once a page has loaded

Remote Content You Reference

This is the one case where using the editor can cause a request to leave your device, so it is stated plainly rather than buried. If your Markdown references a remote image —  — the preview loads that image, which tells the server hosting it your IP address and browser user-agent, exactly as it would on any web page. That request goes to whatever host you referenced; it never passes through us, and the text of your document is not part of it. Referencing no remote images means no such request happens.

This Website

The markdownwizard.app website is served by Cloudflare, which receives standard web request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. For analytics we use self-hosted, cookieless Plausible Analytics — aggregate page counts only, no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal identifiers, and nothing shared with ad networks.

The Contact Form

When you send a message through our contact form, it is verified by Cloudflare Turnstile and delivered to our inbox. We use what you send solely to respond to you; nothing is stored on our servers beyond delivering the message.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information. The only third parties involved are the service providers named on this page, each used only for the purpose this page names for it.

Children's Privacy

MarkdownWizard does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
